Found Memories

 Within my studio practice i have been experimenting with using old found photographs as a basis for my paintings, unconsciously choosing simple compositions with strong forms and tonal contrasts. Using these photographs i strive to create a sense of nostalgia and window into the past. The monochromatic documentations have a sombre and moody atmosphere, depicting the memories of unknown people, maybe even personal and sentimental images.
