Liz Deschenes - Bracket.

This small exhibition at Campoli Presti's displaying Liz Deschenes work contained a set of daguerreotypes; unique images on polished, silver plated, iodine treated sheets of copper that are developed with mercury and fixed with salt water. These pieces of delicate copper displaying ambiguous forms and dark moody monochromes were cut into triangular, architectural pieces, this seemed to organise and frame the fluidity and organicity of the spontaneous forms.

This set of work addresses Deschenes ongoing interest of the materiality and process of photography, challenging the limited scope often bestowed upon it. This experimentation in the process of a more practical photography asks questions of the permanency of the images and how a medium created usually to capture and control memories is unsure.
